Why should I donate?
Several reasons:
*Donations for Project Loop help me to spend more time on the project - the more donations I get, the more I will contribute to the project, because it also means I need to work less on other money-making things. So making a donation directly benefits you, assuming you want more new music to turn up here.
*Because you like my music and want to help me succeed and expand my activities, you philanthropic person, you.
*Because you used my music for commercial purposes, made a profit, and would like to thank me for my contribution to your success.
How much should I donate?
If you donate through your own PayPal account, you may donate as much or as little as you like! Any amount is appreciated. If you donate by credit card, however, please make a donation of at least $2. Some other royalty-free sites have suggested a small donation (such as $5) for every track you download, you might consider something along those lines as well. It's up to you.
Why are there two options for donating?
If you have a PayPal account, you may have noticed that there are different fees for receiving different types of payments, depending on the type of account that you have. My goal is to have as little of your generous donation to go to PayPal fees as possible, so I have set up two separate accounts - the one for donating with a PayPal account is a "personal" account and charges no fees for deposits from other PayPal accounts, and the one for donating with a credit card is a "premier" account, which charges for all deposits but allows me to accept credit card payments for a much lower fee and more than 5 times per year, for those people who just don't want a PayPal account.
Where does the money go and what is it used for?
Your donation goes to a savings account, which I may withdraw from to "pay" myself for working on music for Project Loop or fund related things (like new software or "orchestras" to make the tracks with). Sometimes I might take money out to do other things related to composing, but priority will be given to Project Loop.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Well, no. Sorry. At least, I don't think so. I'm just an individual with a personal project accepting donations to help support it and my art in general, and I don't have any plans to turn it into a non-profit organization.
